Dan Hooker has lost four of his last five fights and is looking to regain his former glory as a top-tier UFC fighter. The 32-year-old is set to return to the lightweight division and is set to fight former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos.

Dos Anjos recently tweeted that anyone is an open challenge to fight him in July or August. Hooker apparently accepted the RDA challenge.

Reiterating that he had initially decided not to respond to the RDA’s challenge, Hooker added:

“No one else said anything! He said, ‘Anyone.’ Hey, I’m your Huckleberry. You know what I mean? ”

Asked if August seemed appropriate for a potential RDA matchup, Hooker said: “August sounds good, buddy. RDA, I like him. ”

Ko and Hooker discussed speculation that the UFC may host a pay-per-view event in Australia this August. Hooker has indicated that although nothing has been officially confirmed, he will be open to competing in the event.

‘The Hangman’ was also asked if he would like to continue competing in the featherweight division or return to the lightweight division. In his last fight, New Zealand returned to Featherweight and lost to Arnold Allen in a first-round technical knockout in March. Hooker suggested he plan to return to the lightweight division for his next fight.

The consensus is that due to his recent setbacks inside the octagon, Dan Hooker is heading for a must-win situation in his next fight. Following the defeat of ‘The Hangman’ against Allen, MMA legend Daniel Carmier commented that Hooker’s best days were probably behind him.

“We now know that Dan Hooker is at the tail end. Because when you start to be a doorman to promote young talent, as you know, you always say I try to make everyone a doorman I think now he will find himself in this kind of. Matchup. “
